"Orchestral Playing" Master's Study Course

Profile

The "Orchestral Playing" Master's study course prepares graduates of music colleges in a practical and goal-oriented oder targeted manner for a career as an orchestral musician. The degree is offered by the four music colleges of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Prospective students can apply to Detmold Music College, the Robert Schumann College in Düsseldorf, the Folkwang University of the Arts or the College of Music and Dance in Cologne.

Admission Requirements

  • general university entrance qualification
  • degree from an institution of higher education in Germany or abroad (e.g. Bachelor degree) in the instrument for the "Orchestral Playing" Master's study course
  • successful entrance exam at one of the participating music colleges

Study Location

The majority of the modularly structured classes for the "Orchestral Playing" Master's study course is held at the Orchesterzentrum|NRW in Dortmund. The main lessons and individual modules are taught at the respective music college.
